Fundraisers

One of JLS's enduring and beloved fundraisers has been its cookbooks. League members have collaborated on three cookbooks: The Seattle Classic Cookbook (1983), Simply Classic (1993), and Celebrate the Rain (2004). The League sought to capture fresh Pacific Northwest flavors with quick-and-easy recipes that are light and healthy (plus a few for the occasional indulgence), using local ingredients like seafood, Walla Walla onions, and fruit from the Yakima Valley. Celebrate the Rain won multiple awards, including the Tabasco Community Cookbook Award (West Regional); the ForeWord Magazine Cookbook Awards (Finalist), and the FRP Junior League Cookbook Award.
