Performers for the First Junior League of Seattle Follies
Follies
The Junior League of Seattle's first Follies were presented on May 3–5, 1926, at the Metropolitan Theatre. The theatrical review included musical numbers, dances, and short sketches, modelled after the elaborate, successful Ziegfeld Follies on Broadway in New York. Donald MacDonald, who originated the idea of Junior League Follies throughout the country, directed the performances in Seattle. The show-stopper was "The Fox Trot Wedding," a mock wedding ceremony danced to a foxtrot rhythm featuring Mrs. William C.H. Lewis.
